Who We Are & What We Do
The Good Neighbor Project helps to create a neighborly community by matching volunteers or paid service providers with older adults (age 60 or better) that need help with seasonal outdoor chores, such as grass cutting, shoveling snow, and raking leaves.
This assistance is often an essential factor in helping an older adult remain living in his or her home.
Who Do We Serve
Good Neighbor Project serves older adults (age 60+) living in Milwaukee County.
A person requesting help must complete a registration form and will be placed on a matching list. Immediate service is not available and a volunteer match is not guaranteed.

Who Can Help
Volunteers
Volunteers are required to complete an application for a background check to Interfaith. This is Interfaith’s policy to ensure a safe environment for our community’s older adults.
Volunteers must be in good general health, able to complete the chores involved and provide their own transportation. Volunteers are not required to provide equipment, but are welcome to use their own if they prefer.
The goal is to match a volunteer with a person living near his or her home. A match can be permanent or short-term.

Some of the groups that have helped are: local Girl Scout troops, Cudahy High School Girls Track Team, Youth Group Missions and Veterans for Community Service, local businesses participating in United Way’s Days of Caring.
